On
8th of April, SCSC had organized an industrial visit to Alliance
Bank. At 12.30 pm, all of the participants gathered at the foyer and departed
to the headquarter of Alliance Bank in KL. Once we have reached there, we were
welcomed by the person in charge of the company and all of us were led and gathered
in a function room for briefing and introductions.
The head of human resource, told us about the history of
the company and also the achievement of Alliance Bank in the past few years.
After the short briefing, all participants were divided into five groups. Each
group were taken to different parts of the company to have a tour and
understand more on how a bank functions. The departments includes ground
transaction & SME banking, financial market, investment market, Islamic
banking, and branch banking.
After the one hour tour, everyone was gathered back in
the function room once again to continue the briefing on future career
development programs offered by Alliance Bank. We were being told that Alliance
Bank do provide internship program and management trainee program. Alliance
Bank’s internship program is an awarded program as their interns are able to have
hands-on experiences regarding the banking industry instead of only doing paper
works. As for their management trainee program, it is an intensive 12 months
development program which aims to provide graduates a chance to develop their
skills and acts as a stepping stone to get into the workforce.
Before ending the briefing, a short Q&A session was
carried out. We had also filled up the M100 survey form. Souvenir appreciation
was given to Alliance Bank as an appreciation of their time and effort. Lastly,
a group picture was taken and the visit officially ended at 4.30 pm.
